Ishmael Asad recently joined Hedgeye Risk Management as a Digital Assets Analyst, contributing to the launch of a new research vertical focused on digital assets. He completed his degree in Economics at the University at Buffalo. Upon discovering Bitcoin and blockchain technology, Ishmael “fell down the crypto rabbit hole” and made a significant shift from his chemical engineering studies, which he had pursued during the first half of his academic journey.
Before joining Hedgeye, Ishmael shared his enthusiasm for digital assets by presenting at universities, creating NFTs, and writing freelance articles about his interests in the space.
His passion for emerging technologies and financial innovation makes him a valuable addition to the Hedgeye team. Ishmael is eager to contribute to Hedgeye's cutting-edge research and looks forward to collaborating with colleagues to drive the firm's digital assets initiatives forward.
Rob has nearly 15 years of sell-side and corporate experience within the REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) sector. Prior to joining Hedgeye, Rob spent over 2 years in business development and investor relations at Paramount Group (PGRE), a REIT which owns and manages office buildings in New York and San Francisco.
Prior to that, Rob spent 3 years at Evercore ISI where he served as the lead office, industrial and self-storage REIT analyst on the #1/2 Institutional Investor-ranked REIT team. Before joining Evercore ISI, Rob held various real estate-focused sell-side and investment banking roles.
Rob will be leading Hedgeye's equity research platform covering the trillion dollars + in publicly traded REITs. His research coverage will address all key subsectors of REITs including: residential, industrial, self-storage and specialty. He graduated from the NYU Stern School of Business with a dual degree in Finance and Economics.
He also earned his CFA designation in 2010.
Christian Drake has been working with Hedgeye Risk Management since the inception of the company in 2008. Christian has experience working with many analysts at Hedgeye including our health care, macro, and digital assets teams.
Josh has more than a decade of experience following sectors including specialty finance, general financial services, and satellite communications. Prior to Hedgeye Risk Management, Josh was an integral part of the number-one ranked Institutional Investor and Greenwich Survey Mortgage, and specialty finance team at Lehman Brothers before moving to the buy-side at Amaranth Group and Millennium Partners. He began his financial career at CE Unterberg, Towbin covering the satellite communications sector. Josh holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Rochester.

Prior to founding Hedgeye in 2008, Keith was a successful hedge fund manager at Carlyle–Blue Wave Partners, Magnetar Capital, Falconhenge Partners, and Dawson-Herman Capital Management.
For many years, Keith was a regular market guest across major financial media, including Fox Business, where he co-hosted with Maria Bartiromo, Bloomberg, CNN, and a contributor to CNBC. Frustrated by conflicts of interest and declining research quality within Establishment Media, he launched HedgeyeTV in 2013 to deliver independent, transparent market analysis and insight directly to investors.
Keith leads Hedgeye's global Macro research, which covers the top 50 economies worldwide. He hosts The Macro Show each weekday morning and The Call @ Hedgeye, where the firm's 40+ analyst research team presents their long and short investment ideas. He also hosts the acclaimed interview series Real Conversations, featuring in-depth discussions with leading investors, strategists, and global thinkers.
Keith is the author of two books, Diary of a Hedge Fund Manager and Master The Market: A Hedge Fund Manager's Guide to Process and Profit. He is also the founder of the private equity firm Seven7.
He serves on the Board of Trustees at Sacred Heart University, where he is Treasurer.
Keith began his career as an institutional equity sales analyst after earning a degree in economics from Yale University. While at Yale, he captained the men's ice hockey team to a Division I Ivy League Championship.

Josh Steiner, CFA, is a veteran investment professional with more than two decades of experience across the Sell Side and Buy Side. Josh began his financial career at C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, covering the Satellite Communications sector, where he developed a strong foundation in fundamental equity research.
He later joined Lehman Brothers, where he became a core member of the #1 ranked Institutional Investor and Greenwich Survey Mortgage and Specialty Finance Team. During his tenure, Josh built deep expertise across Financials, Housing, and Specialty Finance, contributing to the team's industry-leading research.
Following Lehman Brothers, Josh transitioned to the Buy Side, managing Long/Short Financials strategies at Millennium Partners and Amaranth Group. Across both firms, he refined a macro-aware, risk-managed investment approach spanning financial institutions, credit, and housing-related assets.
Josh joined Hedgeye Risk Management in 2009, where he covers Macro, Financials, Housing, and Digital Assets, bringing a cross-asset perspective to identifying opportunities and risks across market cycles.
